Rudi and Nelly - family session

Family Shooting in late Summer

This kind of family shooting is a lot of fun. No sitting still, boring waiting and looking into the camera. Instead parents just play around with their children. We walked through the bushes and meadows while I captured them just by being family.

Thanks to Daniel Anna & Kathleen, Luke and Amy.

Like to do a shooting?

Usually when people want pictures they ask a photographer for it. But sometimes, when I see people that I think are interesting, its the other way around. Beth is a young woman from church. She is really shy. She is also very smart. We had a good time talking while shooting.
Thanks Beth for taking the time. I hope you would like to do this again.

Waterlily Dance

The waterlily dance choreographed and performed by my daughter. She asked me to do some shoots of her dancing. Took me a while to take the time for it. So she kept asking. :-( Sorry for that Lea. I had a good time working with you. We should do something like that again. Soon!!!

Oh and before I forget: for these two pictures I used my Fairytale filter I talked about. A couple of weeks ago.

Peekaboo Jillie!

With life as busy as it is there is so little time to visit all nieces, nephews brothers, sisters... That's why having family over for a shooting is always fun. This is my niece Jillian. She is a curioius little girl and not scared of anything.

Interesting location

A few years ago I found this old house, it's a really interesting location. And before it totally collapses I asked Irina if she had time for a shooting. She brought her friend Beate and sister Cornelia along. Beate and Irina worked in front of the camera and Cornelia helped out behind it. I think we have to get Cornelia in front of the camera too, because she has a really cute smile :-)

And since its summer we took a few pictures outside too.

...world in a another light

Hi what are you up these days? Hope you'r enjoying the summer.
I worked on some projects around the house and garden. Had shootings and pictures to work on. I also worked on some ideas I had in mind for a while.
For example, I created a Filter for Lightroom. Named it Fairytale.
It does work pretty well. I may have to round it up a bit more.

Need to go outside a bit more. And do a lot more photographing before winter's back.

Take a look in to your world you have not seen this way.

Yes I know it's not for everyone. But I like it so far.
I tried it on portraits. Looked nice too. Show you a few next time.

FunnyFaces

My kids don't mind to be in front of the camera. They kinda got used to it. So the other days we had a "funny faces" session. Here only a few of my favorites.

My folks in a different light

My parents asked me a while ago if I could take some portraits of them. Felt a little odd to have them posing for me and hugging more often then I ever saw in my life.
Just wanted to share a few of them.

New Tools

Finally and over due I made a deep grip into my wallet and got myself a new camera. The Nikon D700. I know Nikon is releasing the D700x later this year. But I just can't wait any longer and I couldn't affort the new one anyway.

Ice on a Lake

I took this picture in 2003 nearby the small Village of Pratjau in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.

I walked on the frozen lake along the shore for a while until I came to these landing stages. As I looked at them, the picture was a strange sight. They were surrounded with ice and seemed to be useless, because you could go where ever you wanted on the frozen lake. I thought it was special not to need the predetermined path.

How would it be in life to have this freedom? What if we could just step aside of our ordinary ways and look at our surroundings from a different perspective?

Portaits in Black n' White

When the color does not distract the eye you start looking for deeper things in a picture. The expressions on the faces become more intense and emotions are enhance.

Cherish the time

I like this picture because it shows how we feel when we become parents. We want to hold and protect this little one that was given to us. It seems like yesterday that I held my little girl like that and now she is ten. And the day I will have to let her go is getting closer way too fast.

This picture is a reminder to never forget that the time we have with our children is limited and we should cherish each moment.

Hands

The hands of those who raised us. Providing, shaping, protecting, holding, always loving. Passing all they have to the next generation. Then they quietly fade out of the picture of life as time passes. Leaving a space to be filled by their sons.

Our Life is shaped by those who love us.

Four Generations

It is not very often that I have four generations in my studio. I was really excited about that opportunity. A big thank you to the Pegler family for your faith in my work.

New Couch for my Studio

Once a while we go to MCC looking for stuff to enrich my studio. This time I was lucky. Found a old stylish couch. I looked for something like this already for I while.

Used it for a shooting with my favorite Model Irene (thank you for taking the time). Here two of my favorite pictures.

Thanks for this donation. And thanks to MCC.

Macro

I like shooting all kind of details. Bought a new macro lens last year. Now I can shoot ants crawling over leaves and flowers:-) Will post more details shots soon.
